HF Planner : Ham Radio guide
Package ID: com.devvratkalia.hfplannerhamradioguide
Publisher: Dev_K
Effective date: 17 August 2026

This policy explains what the HF Planner : Ham Radio guide app (the “App”) does with data. It is written in plain English, and it is meant to be accurate rather than reassuring: the App shows ads, and ad software collects device identifiers. That is described in full below.

The short version

1. Who is responsible

Dev_K (“we”, “us”) publishes the App and is the data controller for the processing described here, for the purposes of the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Contact: wekstuff@gmail.com.

Note that the advertising networks reached through mediation act as controllers of the data they collect for their own advertising purposes. We do not control what they do with it beyond the settings and consent signals we pass to them.

2. What the App does with the information you enter

The App is an HF propagation planning tool. To produce a plan, you enter or select things like transmit and receive locations, the time window you want to plan for, and station parameters. The App combines those inputs with solar-cycle, space-weather and weather data to produce a 15-minute frequency matrix, a PDF report, and RF pattern charts.

3. What the advertising software collects

The App includes Unity LevelPlay mediation (ironSource) with the Unity Ads adapter and serves banner, interstitial, and rewarded ads. This software collects the following whether or not you interact with an ad, and it is the main reason this policy exists.

What is collectedShared with third partiesWhyUsed for tracking / advertising profiles
Advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID / Apple IDFA) Yes — mediated ad networks Advertising and marketing Yes
Vendor / app-set identifier Yes — mediated ad networks Advertising, fraud prevention Yes
Coarse device information (device model, operating system version, language and region, network type) Yes — mediated ad networks Advertising, analytics Yes
Diagnostics and crash logs generated by the ad SDK Yes — the SDK vendor Analytics, keeping the App working No
Ad interaction data (which ads were requested, shown, clicked, or completed) Yes — mediated ad networks Advertising, analytics Yes

None of this is linked by us to a name or an account, because there are no accounts. It is still personal data under GDPR, because an advertising identifier singles out a device.

Your approximate or precise location is not passed to the advertising software. The location permission, if you grant it, is used only to fill in a station position for a propagation calculation on your device.

4. Consent, and how to limit ad tracking

5. Subscriptions and payments

The App offers optional Pro subscriptions (pro_monthly, pro_yearly) through the in-app purchase system of the store you installed the App from. Google Play or Apple processes the payment, holds your payment details, and manages renewal and cancellation. We receive only the anonymous purchase and entitlement status needed to unlock Pro features on your device, and aggregate, non-identifying sales reports from the store. We never see your card number, billing address, or store account credentials.

The App may occasionally ask you to rate it. That prompt is presented and handled by Google Play or the App Store; we do not learn whether or how you rated it.

6. Device permissions

PermissionWhy the App asksOptional?
LocationTo fill in your station position automatically instead of typing coordinatesYes — deny it and enter coordinates manually
Biometrics / device credentialTo unlock the App if you turn on the app lockYes — the lock is off unless you enable it
Internet / network accessSolar, space-weather and weather data, map tiles, ads, purchasesNo — required for the App to function
Advertising ID (Android)Required declaration for the ad software described in section 3Controlled through your Android ad settings

You can revoke any optional permission at any time in your operating system settings; the App will fall back to manual entry or an unlocked start.

7. App lock, biometrics and secure storage

8. Who we share data with

We do not sell your data, and we have no user database to sell. Data leaves your device only to:

9. Retention and deletion

10. Your rights

If you are in the EEA, the UK, or a jurisdiction with comparable law, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. Because we hold no identifiable data about you, in practice most of these are exercised by acting on your own device (delete the App’s data) or on the ad identifier (reset it, or withdraw consent in the App). You may still contact us at wekstuff@gmail.com and we will help as far as we technically can, and you have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.

If you are in California, we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising other than through the advertising software described in section 3, which you can switch off using the controls in section 4.

11. Legal bases (GDPR)

12. Children

The App is not directed to children and is not intended for use by anyone under 13 (or the equivalent age in your country). It is not configured as a child-directed service for advertising purposes. We do not knowingly collect data from children; if you believe a child has used the App, contact us and we will assist with the ad-identifier controls available.

13. International transfers

The ad networks, store operators, map and weather providers named above operate globally and may process data in countries outside your own, including the United States. Where required, those transfers rely on the standard contractual clauses or other transfer mechanisms adopted by those companies.

14. Security

Network requests use HTTPS. Secrets are stored in the platform Keychain/Keystore. Because the App keeps your content on your device and we run no user server, the security of your plans and reports depends mainly on the security of your device: use a device passcode, keep the operating system updated, and consider enabling the App’s lock.

15. Changes to this policy

If the App’s data practices change — for example if a feature is added that sends data somewhere new — this policy will be updated and the effective date at the top will change. Material changes will also be noted in the App. Continuing to use the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
