Privacy policy
Effective October 18, 2026. This policy covers the WebScraperAI Studio app for macOS, made by Devvrat Kalia.
The short version
The app doesn't collect personal data. There's no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and the developer has no server that receives anything from the app. What you collect stays on your Mac.
What stays on your Mac
- Your recipes: page addresses, columns, paging settings and the rows last collected.
- Change history from watches, and your bookmarks.
- Your settings.
- The built-in browser's website data: cookies, cached pages and sign-ins you make on sites yourself.
All of this is kept in the app's own sandboxed folder. Exports go only where you save them.
Connections the app makes
- Websites you open. The built-in browser loads the pages you visit, like any browser. Those sites receive what browsers usually send, such as your IP address and the cookies they set, and their own privacy policies apply. The app adds “WebScraperAIStudio” to its User-Agent so sites can tell it apart.
- robots.txt. Before collecting more pages, scrolling for more or checking a watch, the app downloads the site's robots.txt file. That request carries no personal data.
- Watches. While the app is open, it reloads the pages of recipes you watch, on the schedule you chose. Nothing runs after you quit.
- Apple. Purchases, the trial and Restore Purchases go through the App Store. Apple handles payment; the developer never sees your payment details or Apple Account information. Watch alerts are local notifications shown by macOS.
Apple Intelligence
Describe Columns uses Apple's on-device model when Apple Intelligence is available and turned on. Your request and the page's sample values are processed on your Mac and aren't sent anywhere.
Personal data in what you collect
If a column looks like it holds email addresses or phone numbers, the app points it out so you can decide whether you need it. You're responsible for collecting and using personal data lawfully and for following each site's terms.
Deleting your data
- Delete a recipe from the sidebar to remove its rows and change history.
- Settings › Privacy › Cookies and website data clears the built-in browser's cookies, sign-ins and cache.
- Deleting the app and its folder (
~/Library/Containers/com.devvratkalia.webscraperaistudio) removes everything.
Children
The app isn't directed to children and doesn't knowingly collect anyone's data.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date. If the app ever starts sending data anywhere, this policy and the App Store privacy details will be updated first.
